This is a 6 day (5 nights) tour of the Northern region of Ghana. Trip starts from Accra and we drive to Tamale. Explore the rich culture, language, arts and food during this long trip. There will be many stops at popular tourist sites.

DAY 1: Arrival
Transfer to your hotel by your driver and guide after going through immigration.
Depending on your arrival time, you may have a city tour of Accra which will take you to Teshie to visit the Traditional Casket Maker’s Shop, see different shapes of caskets made to reflect the interest, hobbies and occupation of the deceased.
A drive through the University of Ghana the premier and largest of the thirteen Ghanaian universities and tertiary institutions in Ghana. It was founded in 1948 as the University College of the Gold Coast. Visit the National Theatre which looks like gigantic ship or seagull spreading its wing; you will see the “male and female” drums which are used for state functions.

DAY 2: Accra - Tamale
After breakfast, depart Accra for our long drive to Tamale visiting nearby villages on your way.
Arrive early evening and check into our hotel.

Day 3: Tamale - Sirigu Cultural Village - Tamale
Breakfast at your hotel. Visit Sirigu village near Navrongo. The village is renowned for its elaborately decorated adobe compounds painted by local women. The houses are covered in red, black and white geometric patterns as well as depictions of animals and people, most popularly “the man with two faces”, who holds a fowl in one hand and a cross in the other, symbolizing the coexistence of traditional beliefs and Christianity.
Return to Tamale after your tour of Sirigu village. You will also visit Tongo Hills and the Witches camp. You will have time to interact with the people

Day 4: Tamale - Kumasi
Take a drive after breakfast to Kumasi in the Ashanti region of Ghana via Kintanpo waterfalls and Buabeng –Fiema Monkey Sanctuary in the Brong Ahafo Region. Buabeng-Fiema Monkey Sanctuary is Ghana's most famous example of traditional African conservation. The sanctuary is nestled in between the two villages of Buabeng and Fiema; the sanctuary is home to over 200 Geoffrey’s Pied Columbus and 500 Campbell's Mona Monkeys.
For more than 150 years, the people of Boabeng and Fiema have considered the monkeys sacred. The traditional beliefs in both communities prohibit physical harm to the monkeys. Additionally, the 2 communities came together in 1975 to pass a local modern law prohibiting harm to the monkeys.
Continue to Kumasi for overnight.

Day 5: Kumasi - Accra
After taking sumptuous breakfast at your hotel, you will visit the Manhyia Palace Museum which was built by the British in 1925 to receive Asantehene (ruler of the Ashanti people) Prempeh I when he returned from exile in the Seychelles to resume residence in Kumasi. It was used by the Ashanti kings until 1974. It now serves as a museum, containing a range of items relating to the Ashanti Kingdom, particularly Prempeh I (ruled 1888-1931) and Prempeh II (ruled 1931-1970). Visit the nearby Okomfo Anokye Sword. This sword planted over 300 years with the prophecy the day it will be taken off the unity on the great Kingdom of the Ashanti's will end.
Continue with visits to the three Ashanti craft villages starting with the woodcarving village of Ahwiaa, known for the talented craftsmen who fashion royal stools, walking sticks and fertility dolls from wood. You will have the opportunity to purchase hand carved items of all kinds. The next stop is the village of Ntonso where artisan’s hand-stamp patterns on cotton cloth to make Adinkra textiles. Adkinkra cloth is worn for funerals and other solemn occasions. The final village is Bonwire, where the famous Kente cloth is handmade on looms in a time-honored tradition passed down through generations. You will see the Kente weavers in process of creating Kente cloth in various styles, and have the opportunity to purchase souvenirs expertly woven Kente.
