Five-Day Authentic Volta Experience

After breakfast, you will depart Accra to Ho, the capital of the Volta region via T.K Beads. At TK Beads, you will be taken through the process of Beads-making. Continue to Wli waterfalls. The Wli waterfalls, also known as Agumatsa waterfall – meaning, ‘’allow me to flow’’ is the highest in Ghana and the West Africa sub-region. It is an extremely iconic fall that pours from a height of about 80 meters. The fall comes with upper and lower falls with inviting pools at the base of both falls. Lovers of swimming always have good and exciting times at the fall.

Breakfast at your hotel. Today we will have a hiking experience at Mountain Afadjato. The name Afadjato comes from Avadzeto which means “to go to war against the bush”. The mountain owes this name to the fact that it was covered by a certain plant which causes severe skin irritations at the time. Hence, whenever farmers or hunters climbed the mountain, they were “at war” with the plants. It is the Highest mountain in Ghana and about 885m high. Climbing this mountain is very fascinating.

After lunch at Liate Wote, we will continue to Tafi Atome Monkey sanctuary. For the past two centuries, these monkeys have been found living in the tropical forest around the small village of Tafi-Atome and have been sacred because it was believed they were messengers from the gods. At the sanctuary, you will have the opportunity to feed some of these monkeys and even play with them.

Check out of your hotel after Breakfast. Depart Ho for Accra with a stop at Agotime Kpetoe. Agotime Kpetoe is a unique town due to its location on the Ghana-Togo border. It is also unique as it is one of the major Kente weaving villages that has kept the tradition. The village is known for its renowned and high-quality Ewe Kente. We will learn how the kente is weaving on the loom.

We will also experience the warm culture of the people of Agotime Kpetoe, blended in their rich heritage and rhythm of Borborbor.
